Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido in 1976, Motohiro Okoshi is a renowned sommelier who studied in France and worked as a chef sommelier at Ginza Lecrin before going independent in 2013. As Japan’s first wine taster, he bridges the gap between Japan and France, sharing his deep understanding of wine. With accolades including first place at the 1st JALUX Wine Awards and second place at the 4th Cuvee Louise Sommelier Contest, Okoshi is a well-respected figure in the wine community. He has been featured in numerous media outlets and has selected wines for VIPs globally, including JAL First Class and Janu Tokyo. Drawing on his latest insights from France, he offers seminars and lectures showcasing the charms of wines from Burgundy and Alsace.
